The next expedition aims to improve our understanding of the physical, biogeochemical and ecological interactions between land, air and sea. Researchers from a broad range of disciplines, including early-career researchers, and Indigenous partners are invited to submit proposals addressing Arctic coastal processes, land–ocean interactions, and community-relevant environmental challenges.
It has been issued within the framework of the PAP-27 initiative in partnership with Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) and Amundsen Science under the Arctic Pulse program, which seeks to strengthen international and interdisciplinary Arctic research in preparation for the International Polar Year 2032–33. The initiative emphasizes environmentally sustainable research practices, collaboration with Indigenous communities, knowledge mobilization, and the training of early-career researchers, while encouraging innovative and inclusive approaches to Arctic science.
